Kano expends N500m to accredit 54 courses in Polytechnic

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje disclosed this at the Fifth Digital Print Solution Expo in Kano on Tuesday last week.

Represented at the event by the Commissioner of Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, Ganduje said the money was used for the provision of facilities at the institution, being part of the requirements for the accreditation of the courses.

“When we came in, we found out 54 courses in the state polytechnic were not accredited. So, we felt it was necessary to ensure that all those courses, including those in the Department of Printing Technology, were accredited,” he said.

The governor said his administration would partner with the Skysat Technologies Nigeria Limited, the company that organised the expo, to train youths in printing business to enable them have access to the latest technology and solutions in digital printing.

He said the present administration, under his watch, was committed to supporting both foreign and local companies whose programmes are  geared toward stimulating the economy.
