By Adebayo Joseph (Kwara)

The National Association of Kwara State Students National headquarters has summoned all Kwara State Students to join in a Mass Protest against the Kwara State Government.

The Student is expected to register their displeasure over the state government refusal to release the students’ bursary in the state.

Recall that the Kwara State Governor Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed approved the sum of 1 million naira for the payment of the students’ bursary about 4 months ago.

The delay however did not go down well with the students as they have commenced mobilization to express their grievances against the state government.

The Association in a statement jointly signed by its President Comr. Musa Mohammed Mancha and National Publicity Secretary Comr. Salihu Ayatullahi and made available to this medium on Tuesday (Today) said all effort to apply a diplomatic approach for the release of the fund has been exhausted.

“Having waited for over 4 months, writing letters and using every known diplomatic approach to reach dialogue with the state government, they stayed recalcitrant refusing to release the approved money.

“However the association which stated his believes in diplomatic approach and has done everything possible physical to avert the protests against the state government, which had made the association cancelled some earlier schedule protest.

“We want to categorically state that we are coming out in full force on Monday, November 5th, 2018 taking to the street to express our grievances.

“We must not fail to include that any negotiation later than Friday, November 2nd will not be welcome nor any plea from the state government outside of the time frame will be accepted. We have done enough, and can no longer hold the pressure from our students.

“We call on the entire Kwara state students to come out en mass and join the peaceful but massive movement to the state government house on Monday, as we insist that our bursary must be paid, and our education sector must be revived.”
