• After your award has finished, stay back in your own country for a minimum of two years.
• By the time you submit your application, you must have completed all requirements for an undergraduate degree that allow you to be admitted to a postgraduate programme at a UK university.
• Depending on the course and university you choose, this could be different from an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK.
• Possess a minimum of two years of work experience, or 2,800 hours.

• Have dual or British citizenship (unless you are applying from Hong Kong and are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or you hold BN(O)).
• Have refugee status in a nation that is not eligible for CHEVING. Candidates are eligible for a scholarship if they are nationals of a nation that qualifies for Chevening and if they are recognised as refugees in a nation that qualifies for Chevening.
• If you’re a current or past employees of His Majesty’s Government, or were employed by one of the following organisations within the last two years since Chevening applications opened: the British Council, a sponsoring UK university, the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, all British Embassies/High Commissions, the Home Office, the Ministry of Defence, the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy, the Department for International Trade, and the UKVI.
