After several weeks of leadership tussle between the Senate and Executive Arm of National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS National Headquarters) The Judicial Council has ordered the reinstatement of Comrade Musa Muhammad Mancha as the National President.
Mancha was on October 1st, 2018 Suspended by the Senate Council over an alleged financial misconduct by the Senate.
The Judicial Council in a Press Statement jointly signed by the Chief Judge Moshood Ibrahim and the Registrar Ibrahim Habeeb made available to this medium today described the suspension as Illegal.
“Having considered the petition of the Plaintiff in this case(Comrade Musa Muhammad Mancha), we found that the suspension of the plaintiff was illegal and as a result null and void as it is inconsistent with the provisions of Article 13, S.5(xi) of the Constitution of NAKSS NHQs.
“Therefore, Comrade Musa Muhammad Mancha from now on shall continue as the Executive president of NAKSS NHQs and shall act, enjoy and perform the rights and duties contained in Article 9, S. 3(1) and other provisions of the Constitution of NAKSS NHQs as regards the office of the Executive President.
“ the Acting president, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Paranti should relinquish power to Comrade Mancha and also hand over all the documents of the Association with him to comrade Mancha.”
The statement also revealed that an agreement has also been reached for Mancha to drop all Charges on defamation of Character petitioned before the Council.
“In the noon of 24th of October 2018, a bargain and agreement was reached for the plaintiff to drop his petition on Defamation of Character which was earlier petitioned before us against the Senate president, Deputy Senate president, Clerk, PRO and the Vice president (Administration).
“The Plaintiff was commanded by the Honourable Chief judge to henceforth not only lead a transparent and just administration but also respect the Constitution of NAKSS NHQs in all his decisions and actions.”
