Olu Jacob is Alive – Nigerians reacts as fake News goes viral on Twitter

Nigerians on twitter on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 slammed the originators of fake news which went viral on the social media that veteran Actor Olu Jacob is dead.

Responding after the news was debunked by a Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju-Fregene, debunked the news that veteran actor Olu Jacobs is alive and healthy, the twitter users cautioned the public against spreading unverified news.

Lala who pulled a call through to Olu Jacob when the news began to gain traction, took to her Twitter page to warn those spreading “fake news” to desist.

She said “Uncle Olu Jacobs is alive and well. Very much so.

“I just got off the phone with him. Please stop spreading fake news,” she wrote.

Olu Jacobs, who will be 78 next month, is married to another legendary Nollywood star, Joke Silva.

 One of the twitter users who tweets @officialmrdeen said “All those people carrying fake news about Olu Jacobs, they’ll carry fake news about you oo. Man would live longer than president.  Sigh my heart cut small sha.

In the same vein, Folukemi IYIOLA @IbadanQueenie said  “Una no see person kill with una fake news, na Jagaban of nollywood Olu Jacobs una wan use mouth kill. Everybody go die but bàbà time never reach.

For Taiwo_Ajakaye @dmightyangel “Nollywood members said FAKE NEWS is just “freedom of speech” and any bill against fake news is against human right.

“See how useless bloggers started the fake news about Uncle Olu Jacobs. I’m sure you are all happy about such emotional trauma based on fake news of free speech!
